Youth Engagement Programs
K - 6th Grade Youth Engagement
Beth Or offers a variety of fun, social programs for our children in Kindergarten through 6th grade!
We provide monthly programs for our elemtary school aged students, typically after religious school on Sunday afternoons. These programs often breakdown by K - 3rd grade and 4th - 6th grade. Activities include bowling, holiday parties, craft events, mini gold, overnights, and more!
Everyone enrolled in Religious School is automatically a member of our youth engagement programs. All of our members are encouraged to bring Jewish friends from the area to events.
YOBO (Youth of Beth Or Teen Program) 7th - 12th Grade Youth Engagement
YOBO, our 7th - 12th grade education and engagement program, combines youth group, religious school, social functions and service projects.
Learning + Doing + Friends = YOBO!
What do students do?
At least once a month, sessions include:
- Core sessions for each grade (including 7th grade, Rosh Hodesh/Brodesh for 8th/9th grade, Confirmation for 10th grade, and Post-Confirmation for 11th/12th grade)
- A mitzvah project for hands-on doing and volunteer hours (our Team Tzedek time)
- Elective/Social programming
When does it meet?
With the input of parents and teens, we've identified Sunday evenings from 5 - 7pm as the best time for teen activities (and food - we'll feed them every night!). Sessions are scheduled about three times a month; students attend sessions as they are able to. There are two exceptions: Madrichim and Songleading Lab meet on Sunday mornings from 9am - 1pm (and/or Monday/Tuesday Hebrew school for Madrichim).

All 2nd - 12th graders who love to sing are welcome to participate in our Junior Choir, led by Cantor Murley. In addition to performances at Family Services, the choir also performs the Purim Schpiel, sings off-site at The Abramson Center and community events, and enjoys social activities.
