Congregational Events/Programs

If you enjoy event planning but fundraising isn’t your cup of tea, join a committee to help put together one of the many congregational festival events that take place each year to help our members celebrate the Jewish holidays in a fun, yet meaningful, way. Or, help plan other events that enrich our community and encourage engagement among our members.

Fundraising Events

Do you have a passion for event planning? Are you well organized and enjoy interacting with people? Beth Or hosts a few large scale fundraising events each year such as golf outings, tributes, races, etc. to benefit our congregation. We count on our event committees to organize all aspects of the event with guidance from a Beth Or senior staff member.

Music

For congregants who like to connect through music, Beth Or offers three choir options:

The Adult Choir, under the direction and leadership of Cantor Murley, is for adults who love to sing and can read more formal music. The adult choir helps lead the High Holy Day services and three other services throughout the year with two rehearsals (usually Monday or Tuesday evenings) leading up to each performance.

The Multigenerational Choir, under the direction of Cantor Murley, is for adults, teens, and children who love to sing less formal music. They help lead three services during the year with two rehearsals (usually on Sunday afternoons) leading up to each service.

The Junior Choir – For students in 1st-6th grade who love to sing and make new friends. Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings at 9am before Religious School. They perform at the first Friday Family Shabbat services from September through June, as well as holiday and other special services during the year. They also have fun social events and put together the Purim Schpiel each year for Purim.
