Brotherhood
What is Beth Or Brotherhood?
Brotherhood is an exciting and dynamic group of men engaged in meaningful activities throughout the year. Brotherhood is focused on fully serving the congregation and its male members throughout all stages of life – including relationships with children and/or grandchildren. We facilitate connections between our members for help, guidance, and support with men’s issues: Spiritual, Social, Educational and Life Cycle Events. No matter your age, we have a seat waiting for you.
Brotherhood is an essential part of Congregation Beth Or. Whether you are seeking Fellowship, Community, Service, or Support… our group is looking forward to welcoming YOU!
Why Join Brotherhood?... Why Not?
You get the chance to connect with members who have been there and done that! Membership allows you the opportunity to form business and social connections, seek advice on life’s current topics, as well as participate with other men and their children in activities Brotherhood sponsors.
How can I participate?
Brotherhood sponsors a variety of programs and events for our members, such as:
Educational: Discussions with our Clergy; Brunches with special Guest Speakers
Spiritual: Brotherhood Shabbat/Dinner/Man of the Year; Annual Dinner and Silent Auction
Family Events: Car Show; Father/Child Game Day; Purim Carnival; Shabbat in our Park; Boardroom Spirits; Welcome Back Breakfast; Ice Cream Day; Phillies Baseball Game
Service: Ushering, Blood Drive, Holiday Wine Sales; Passover Packages; High Holy Days Parking; Beth Or Troop Connections
Your generous support allows Brotherhood to contribute to critical programs that enrich our Beth Or community: Beth Or Endowment, Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance, Prayer Books for our Youth, B’nai Mitzvah and Confirmation Gifts, Camp Harlam Scholarships, Rosh Brodesh Trip, Interfaith Housing and more.
How Do I Join Brotherhood?
Regular dues $45 are paid annually and can be paid with your other synagogue payments. Or, opt for
Mensch dues $118 (includes admission to our Annual Dinner, special Mensch recognition pin and our deepest thanks for the additional contribution.)
The Brotherhood President is your voice on the congregation’s Board of Trustees and Executive Committee. Brotherhood officers include President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. Membership meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month.
Bring us your time, energy and talent. We welcome your support and involvement to ensure our Brotherhood is a vibrant and integral part of the Beth Or community.
