Greater Community Engagement
Beth Or’s dynamic Social Action committee is the ideal fit for those who want to give back to those in need through volunteer efforts. The committee organizes and participates in a variety of programs to fulfill our core value of Tikkun Olam (repair of the world). Programming includes on-going collection drives, preparing meals for the food insecure, helping families in crisis, timely relief efforts when natural disasters occur, and much more.
Chair: Susy Krimker and Vice-chair: Margie Chachkin
The Social Justice committee is for members of any age who want to give voice to your values. This group works with Rabbi Marx and often partners with other faiths and/or causes on programs and events that build bridges, educate and proactively advocate for those who need it and/or timely issues.
Chair: Noah Fischer
The Israel committee is for members of any age who are passionate about and supportive of Israel, its security as well as its principles. The committee plans local and regional events that raise awareness of Israel's critical role in the survival of our people. The congregation's work in this area includes educational programs, movies, Israel Bonds events, fundraisers and trips to Israel.
Chairs: Phil Goodman and Liz Rultenberg
