Class Descriptions
Infant Program
Our Infant Program is designed for families who need care for their baby for the majority of the day. The hours are 7am - 6pm. The children’s ages in this class range from 3 - 15 months or until they are developmentally ready to move into the next phase of our program. The experienced teaching team in the baby room are warm and loving and create an environment that is nurturing and supportive.
Tot Program
Our Tot program is designed for children 12 - 18 months of age. This is the next step after the baby room. We offer full day care Monday - Friday 7am - 6pm. Here, our children are exposed to young toddler-based activities and specially designed instruction. Our Tot class teaching team are experts in the field, caring professionals and will nurture your child's individual needs.
First Steppers
Our First Steppers program enrolls children in a full day program with hours available from 7am - 6pm or a 2-day morning program from 9am - 12noon. The children in this age level are young toddlers – ranging in age from 18 - 24 months. We use the Pennsylvania Learning Standards and Creative Curriculum in planning developmentally appropriate activities.
The First Steppers’ day is filled with busy, fun activities focusing on social skills, learning through play and the development of verbal skills. Jewish values, holidays, and themes are interspersed throughout the curriculum. In this class, your child will participate in weekly music classes, creative movement and celebrate Shabbat. Our First Steppers staff are kind and create thoughtful learning moments that will enrich your child's days.
2-Year-Old Classes
This class consists of children who are 2-years-old by September 1. The group meets 2, 3, or 5 mornings per week from 9am - 12noon or 1pm. There is also a full day program with hours from 7am - 6pm. The children spend fun-filled days developing their social, motor, and verbal skills through many enriching and stimulating activities. Our pre-school uses the Pennsylvania Learning Standards and Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood as a basic framework. Jewish values, holidays, and themes are interspersed throughout the curriculum. Your child will receive individualized loving care from our incredibly talented staff of teachers who will expose them to new concepts, experiences, and ideas.
3 & 4-Year-Old Classes
These classes meet 5 mornings a week from 9am - 12noon or the combo schedule of 3 full days and 2 half days (there is an optional 3 morning a week class for 3-year-olds). There is also a full day program with hours from 7am - 6pm. Children must be 3 or 4 years of age by September 1. Using play as a foundation, emphasis is placed on self-discovery and the process of learning by stimulating each child's imagination, curiosity, and creativity. Jewish values, holidays and themes are interspersed throughout the curriculum. Our pre-school uses the Pennsylvania Learning Standards and Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood as a basic framework for our curriculum. Our teacher team for these classes are compassionate and attentive to your child's needs.
Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten program fosters academic, social-emotional, physical and spiritual development through hands-on, interactive and fun learning experiences. We incorporate language arts, mathematics, science/social studies, art, music, physical activity and Judaic topics including Hebrew, into each week. Our curriculum is based on the Pennsylvania State Standards and Creative Curriculum, and we constantly update our program materials to ensure that the best educational approaches are being utilized. Our learning is both group-based and individualized, and gives each child the chance to succeed at his/her own level and pace. The program also places a strong priority on developing core values such as kindness, respect, self-confidence and responsibility. We provide both indoor and outdoor play time each day. Your child will participate in weekly specials such as music, gym, Hebrew instruction and computer classes. Our Kindergarten class meets Monday - Friday from 9am - 3pm. There is an option for early and late care. Our Kindergarten teacher is kind and will nurture your child in this integral year and prepare him/her for elementary school.
Parent & Me
This popular program allows parents and children to participate in activities together in a classroom setting. We offer classes for children ages 6 - 24 months. The classes will include discussions on child development and parenting issues as well as fun things to do with your child in an informal group setting. We incorporate special activities that are focuses around Jewish holidays and age appropriate themes. Our teacher is experienced, loving and knowledgeable.

The Beth Or Knitters meet twice a month on Wednesday evenings and Friday mornings in the Library or outside on the patio. All are welcome to participate. The knitters make afghans for Horsham Center for Jewish Living; hats for CHOP, Mitzvah Circle & Doylestown Hospital; scarves, sweaters & Stuffies for Mitzvah Circle and fleece-tie blanks for Fox Chase Cancer Center.
