Class Descriptions
Infant Program
Our infant program cares for children starting at 3 months of age. Children enrolled in this program attend on a full-time schedule. Our nurturing caregivers help the infants discover themselves and their surrounding with meaningful experiences and diligent care. The infant teachers create a supportive, safe place for our babies to grow and explore.
Toddler Program
Our Toddler Program consists of two classrooms, the Tot class and the First Stepper class. Children enrolled in this program attend on a full-time schedule. Children in our Tot class are 12-18 months at the start of the school year. Here, our children are exposed to young toddler-based activities and specially designed instruction. Children in our First Stepper class are 18-24 months at the start of the school year. In this class, the First Steppers’ day is filled with busy, fun activities focusing on social skills, learning through play and the development of verbal skills.
2-Year-Old Program
These classes consist of children who are 2-years-old by September 1. The group meets 2, 3, or 5 mornings per week from 9am - 12pm, 1pm or 3pm. There is also a full day program with hours from 7:30am - 5pm. The children spend fun-filled days developing their social, motor, and verbal skills through many enriching and stimulating activities. Our program uses the PA Learning Standards and Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood as a basic framework. Jewish values, holidays and themes are interspersed throughout the curriculum. Your child will receive individualized loving care from our incredibly talented staff of teachers who will expose them to new concepts, experiences & ideas.
3-Year-Old Program
Children must be 3 years of age by September 1. The group meets 2, 3, or 5 mornings per week from 9am - 12pm, 1pm or 3pm. There is also a full day program with hours from 7:30am - 5pm. Using play as a foundation, emphasis is placed on self-discovery and the process of learning by stimulating each child's imagination, curiosity, and creativity. Jewish values, holidays and themes are interspersed throughout the curriculum. Our pre-school uses the Pennsylvania Learning Standards and Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood as a basic framework for our curriculum. Our teacher team for these classes are compassionate and attentive to your child's needs.
4-Year-Old Program
Children must be 4 years of age by September 1. The group meets 5 mornings per week from 9am - 12pm, 1pm or 3pm. We offer a combination schedule of 3 full days and 2 half days. There is also a full day program with hours from 7:30am - 5pm. There is a 5 day requirement to attend our Pre-K program. Our Pre-K program fosters academic, social-emotional, physical and spiritual development through hands-on, interactive and fun learning experiences. We incorporate language arts, mathematics, science/social studies, art, music, physical activity and Judaic topics including Hebrew, into each week.
Our curriculum is based on the Pennsylvania State Standards and Creative Curriculum and we constantly update our program materials to ensure that the best educational approaches are being utilized. Our learning is both group-based and individualized, and gives each child the chance to succeed at their own level and pace. The program also places a strong priority on developing core values such as kindness, respect, self-confidence and responsibility. We provide both indoor and outdoor play time each day. Your child will participate in weekly specials such as music, Creative Movement, Hebrew instruction and Shabbat in the Sanctuary. Our Pre-K teachers are kind and will nurture your child in this integral year and prepare them for elementary school.
