This program is part of a series of important Mental Health topics to be presented this year by the Beth Or Mental Health Task Force. During this session, task about force members and experts, Gail Edelsohn, MD, MSPH, MBE and Toby Sterling, BS, MSc lead a conversation about stigma related to mental health and substance use and share information and valuable resources.  Stigma can result in not seeking treatment, delaying treatment, and limit access to healthcare, housing, and employment.  This session offers the opportunity to learn some basic facts about the types of stigma,  the harmful effects of stigma and discrimination on children, youth, adults, and their families, why our words matter, and how you can help combat stigma. Information will be provided about organizations and campaigns focused on addressing the issue of mental health and substance use stigma and discrimination.
