Current Art Installation - Artist: Fanny Chodosh
April 14 - June 7, 2023
Fanny Chodosh was born in Israel and emigrated to the United States, graduating from Penn State University with a degree in Fine Arts. Her artwork depicts Jewish themes and demonstrates a deep love for her Jewish ancestral homeland. Fanny has dedicated her life to instilling a love of Judaism and Israel to her children (and now 7 grandchildren!). Her art embraces the color and movement inherent to her Jewish-Moroccan heritage, revolving around themes of Shabbat, holidays, biblical stories, archeology, and scenes of nature from the hills of Israel and Jerusalem. She is drawn to the Old City of Jerusalem, and works to capture the nuance of old meeting new, ancient meeting modern life, memories of the synagogue that her father founded in her home town in the Negev desert. Israeli culture and music are a big part of her inspiration.
