APEX Brunch: How to Protect Yourself Against Identity Theft & More
Join us as David Shallcross, Director of the Senior Protection Unit from the PA Attorney General’s Office, shares information on what to be aware of as scams perpetrated against the elderly are proliferating across our state. This program is aimed at educating seniors and families of seniors through some Do’s and Don’ts of ID Theft, phone scams, internet, and mail fraud.
Each year, more than 10 million Americans have their personal information – including name, social security number, bank account, or credit card numbers stolen. Often times, thieves use this information to open phony credit card, bank, or utility accounts. Occasionally, the perpetrator will use the victim’s identity to secure benefits such as healthcare or government assistance.
Although APEX is geared toward members 55+, all congregants are invited to attend this event especially younger congregants with elderly parents.
There is no charge with RSVP to Barbara Murtha, email@example.com by December 11.
