About Sisterhood

Welcome to Beth Or Sisterhood

Without you, we are one woman short.  Join us!

Beth Or Sisterhood is a welcoming community for women of all ages and stages of life. We open our doors and our hearts to all who seek friendship and an opportunity to grow as individuals, volunteers and leaders. Together, we make a difference in our synagogue and in our local and global Jewish communities by supporting Jewish education, social action initiatives, innovative programs and holiday celebrations.

For more information about Sisterhood or to join a committee, please contact a SISTERHOOD BOARD MEMBER/COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON.

Sisterhood is involved in all stages of life at Beth Or

We support the Center for Early Childhood Education, the Religious School, Academy and our youth groups. We provide gifts for all of the B’nai Mitzvah and Confirmation Class students. We also keep in touch with young adults through our BOCCO (Beth Or College and Career Outreach) Program.

We offer social, cultural and educational programs for the women of our congregation. Throughout the year we have many events including Sunday Brunches and Speaker Series, Annual Women's Shabbaton, Shabbat Dinners, Book Club Discussions, Programs and Demonstrations, Theater Trips, and so much more. We often partner with Beth Or Brotherhood on events, too.  If it's a holiday, Sisterhood is there to help with the celebration! On Rosh Hashanah, we hand out apples and honey on your way in to worship services. At Chanukah, we provide candles to the religious school families and we bake hamantashen for the annual Purim Carnival.

To stay up to date on what is happening with Sisterhood, join our Beth Or Sisterhood Facebook page. Also, please visit the Tarshis Gift Shop that is run by Sisterhood and helps support our efforts and programs.
