Infants First Steppers 2 Year Olds 3-4 Year Olds Parent & Me
THE INFANT PROGRAM: Our Infant Program is designed for families who need care for their baby for the majority of the day. The hours are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The children’s ages in this class range from 3 months to 15 months or until they are developmentally ready to move into the First Steppers Program. While we think of all the children in our school as our own children, the babies are particularly precious to us. We want you to think of our school as the baby’s home away from home.
FIRST STEPPERS: Our First Steppers program enrolls children in a full day program with hours available from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm or a 2-day morning program from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. These children are the toddlers of our school – ranging in age from 15 months to 24 months. We use the Pennsylvania Learning Standards in planning developmentally appropriate activities. The First Steppers’ day is filled with busy, fun activities focusing on social skills, learning through play and the development of verbal skills. Jewish values, holidays, and themes are interspersed throughout the curriculum.
The 2-Year-Old Classes: This class consists of children who are 2 years old by September 15th. The group meets two, three, or five mornings per week from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon or 1:00, without their parents. There is also a full day program with hours from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. The children spend fun-filled days developing their social, motor, and verbal skills through many enriching and stimulating activities. Zipporah S. Abramson uses the Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Early Childhood as a basic framework for our curriculum. Jewish values, holidays, and themes are interspersed throughout the curriculum.
3 and 4 Year Old Classes: These classes meet 5 mornings a week from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon or the combo schedule of 3 full days and 2 half days (there is an optional 3 morning a week class for 3 year olds). There is also a full day program with hours from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Children must be 3 or 4 years of age by September 15th. Using play as a foundation, emphasis is placed on self-discovery and the process of learning by stimulating each child's imagination, curiosity, and creativity. Jewish values, holidays, and themes are interspersed throughout the curriculum. Zipporah S. Abramson uses the Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Early Childhood as a basic framework for our curriculum. PARENT AND ME This popular program allows parents and children to participate in activities together in a classroom setting. We offer hour-long classes for children ages 3 to 15 months. Hour and a half long programs are offered for children ages 15 to 24 months. These programs serve as a wonderful bridge to the following year's 2-year-old group. The younger class meets in 8-week sessions throughout the school year. The 18 to 24 month old classes meet one or two mornings a week for the entire school year. A half-year class starts in January and meets one day per week. The classes will include discussions on child development and parenting issues as well as fun things to do with your child, in an informal group setting.
