Zipporah S. Abramson Center for Early Childhood Education is the new name that will replace Zipporah S. Abramson Preschool. We feel that this name accurately reflects what we do which is to educate our youngest children in the our community. Following in the trends of Early Childhood Education, it is important to acknowledge the work we do with young children as valuable and sustainable and we feel that this name represents those efforts.

We are "chalutzim" or pioneers and what we call our school should reflect just that. We are on the cutting edge of early childhood education and we will lead the way. Keep reading and discover what we have to offer your family.

Zipporah S. Abramson Center for Early Childhood Education at Congregation Beth Or serves the youngest members of the congregation and the surrounding community.  Please note that you do not have to be a member of the synagogue to enroll in the school.

In a safe, loving environment, our wonderful, experienced staff provides a diverse curriculum chock full of fun and exciting learning moments and special days. 

Jewish culture and tradition is integrated throughout the curriculum.  Holidays are taught and celebrated on the children’s level.  Weekly school-wide Shabbat celebrations in the Gitlin Family Sanctuary help our children understand the roles of our rabbinical staff.  Cantor Green introduces the children to the beauty and spirituality of Jewish music with weekly music classes and his participation in our school's Shabbat services.  Families are encouraged to participate in our Shabbat and holiday celebrations, volunteer in our classrooms and chaperone on field trips. 

 

Zipporah S. Abramson Center for Early Childhood Education at Congregation Beth Or offers a variety of resource teachers throughout the week.  All of the children enjoy weekly Creative Movement classes in addition to music classes.  Our Pre-K students have physical education instruction, weekly Hebrew and computer classes. 

 

Our students range from ages 3 months through Kindergarten.  Both half day and full day schedules are available during the hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Parent and Child classes are held for children 3 months to 24 months in age. Our preschool is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare.
 

Camp Chaverim, our summer program, also offers full and part day schedules.  The children spend their days exploring art, nature, and music.  They have water fun in our wading pool under the watchful eyes of a certified lifeguard.  There is also plenty of time to run and play on the playground and enjoy being a kid.   The afternoons give the 3 and 4 year olds specific instruction in martial arts, sports, dance, computers and gymnastics.
