Meet BOFTY's Executive Board


Josh Stone has been our Youth Advisor at Congregation Beth Or since November of 2007.  He is dedicated to the youth here by planning memorable and bonding youth events to all sorts of fun places.  In addition to being the Youth Advisor, Josh teaches 5th grade Sunday School, 6th grade Hebrew, and 9th grade Academy at Beth Or.  When Josh isn’t at Beth Or, you can find him Substitute Teaching in many public schools in the Montgomery County area.

Josh was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Upper Dublin, PA.  He was also raised at Beth Or where he has been a member for over 20 years.  He joined in 1989 with his father Steven, mother Terry, and sister Elizabeth Stone.  After graduating from Upper Dublin Senior High School, Josh attended The Pennsylvania State University.  Josh graduated with a BS in Kinesiology with a focus on Health and Physical Education receiving his PA teaching certificate. In College, Josh taught Hebrew School for two years at Congregation Oheb Sholom.  During the summers when school is not in session, Josh is the Aquatics Director/ Sport Specialist at Ramah Day Camp in Melrose Park, PA.

Diana Goodman is the President of BOFTY and a member of the Board of Trustees at Congregation Beth Or.  She is currently a junior at Hatboro-Horsham Senior High School.  Diana has been part of Beth Or’s youth groups since before she could crawl.  She loves being a part of BOFTY because it allows her to meet and get to know other Jewish teens in the area.  In her free time, Diana enjoys playing piano, flute, drums, playing hard on the rugby field, and eating coffee heath bar crunch ice cream.  Diana spends her summers with the Habonim Dror youth movement.  She attends HDNA Camp Galil.












Max Cohen is the Executive Vice President of BOFTY.  He is a junior at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.  Max likes being a part of BOFTY because he loves his friends here.  Also, part of his duties that he loves is recruiting members for the Jr. BOFTY youth group.  Max’s favorite food is chocolate ice cream.  When Max isn’t at school he is a Host at Outback Steakhouse.  Max’s friends would describe him as a goofy and fun kid who loves life!  Max is very involved with NFTY-PAR (BOFTY’s regional youth group) and attends Camp Harlam in the summer.







Lori Herman is the Programming Vice President of BOFTY.  She is a junior at Germantown Academy.  Lori joined BOFTY because she wanted to plan exciting and new events.  Her hobbies include field hockey and watching the Eagles.  At school, she is involved with KTK, Ambassadors, Newspaper, Writing Center, and Ethics.  In her free time, Lori loves hanging out with her friends and going to the movies.










Rachel Older is the Education Vice President of BOFTY.  Rachel is a junior at North Penn High School.  She has been a member of BOFTY since ninth grade and has been a member of Beth Or since she was seven.  At School she is a member of what of Best Buddies and the Young Educators Association.  As the Education Vice President she teaches the Teen Leadership Class during Monday night Academy.  In her free time she enjoys eating, dancing, hanging out with friends at the synagogue.  Rachel loves the Phillies and North Penn Football.  This past summer she worked at Camp Chaverim here at Beth Or.  Rachel looks forward to a great year.



Bekah Jacobson is the Social Action Vice President of BOFTY.  She is a junior at North Penn High School.  Bekah joined BOFTY because all of her close friends were members and it is so much fun.  Bekah plays tennis and is the wrestling manager at her high school.  Her favorite color is aqua marine.  Bekah’s favorite event is the mystery bus ride because she enjoys the thrill of not knowing where she is going and sleeping over with friends. 







Jake Hershman is the Religious and Cultural Vice President of BOFTY.  He is a sophomore at Hatboro-Horsham Senior High School.  Jake currently attends Confirmation at Beth Or.  Jake leads Ma’Arive services during Hebrew School.  When not at Beth Or, Jake can be found running track for his school, playing guitar, and hanging out with his friends.  He loves wearing his purple tie!  Jake joined BOFTY his freshman year and is very active at NFTY-PAR and URJ Camp Harlam.








Lindsay Toub is the Treasurer of BOFTY.  She is a junior at Central Bucks South High School.  Lindsay joined BOFTY in fourth grade and has been involved ever since.  Lindsay chose to be the Treasurer because she has great ideas for fundraising and she is very organized.  At school she is an active participant with yearbook, Spanish honors society, and tutoring.  She currently attends Gratz College.  Lindsay’s hobbies include cheerleading, hanging out with her friends, and graphic design.  Her favorite color is pink.  Lindsay loves to shop and being at Beth Or.  In the summer, you can find Lindsay at Camp Nock-A-Mixon.














Erica (Rycki) Freedman is the Secretary of BOFTY.  She is a sophomore at New Hope Academy.  Rycki chose to be active in BOFTY because she loves BOFTY and wants it to be the best it can be.  You can find Rycki singing in the Junior Choir and most likely she will be wearing a BOFTY shirt.  Rycki currently attends Confirmation at Beth Or.  She loves to sing and play guitar.
